![]() I like how its not just a level where you pull levers and try to find the next open door. ![]() Exploring the entire level and figuring out what to do next is Classic TR for me. On the other hand, I do like the unique challenge it imposes. I will admit that I used a walkthrough a lot of times for this level because it requires you to explore every bit of the level. Same with finding the Ornate Star, since its located behind a curtain that looks like part of the background. For all I know, it looks like a gag item to me. For example, how am I suppose to know where to put the Old Penny? The ticket booths all look like a part of the background. Primarily, figuring out what to do next is the biggest trouble. There is just a lot of unclear objectives to do in this level. On one hand, I find this to be one of the most frustrating levels in the series. The problem is that I actually love the level in retrospect. I feel deeply downbeat by having to read a walkthrough to manage to get through this level. Double arrgh.Īt work today I found myself revisiting the level in my mind. ![]() To make matters worse I missed one secret by not using the ornate star in the room with the campfire. I solved the Masonic room switch puzzle fairly easily, found the old penny to get the ticket, found the ornate star but then wondered around for 3 hours having missed the first Solomon's key in the drill room. That was all lost this weekend playing the Aldwych level. I have always preferred to wonder around, backtracking and trying different combinations until I finally found the right way forward. Never in my life have I consulted walkthroughs before. To put it short, I feel like a first class idiot. Now I am playing the London Section and just this weekend I completed Aldwych. Now I have arrived at Tomb Raider 3 and after finishing the India section (ok) I chose South Pacific (better)and then Nevada (up to now my favourite). I was amazed at how much I could remember but also how I had forgotten. Shortly before Christmas I made the decision to replay all classics on the PC in sequence (including the bonus levels). I think it had something to do with the jungle setting in the first levels which I didn't like. I can't exactly remember why I didn't play it when it came out. I loved the original, relished Tomb Raider 2, laboured my way through Tomb Raider 4 and managed to keep my motivation going to get through Tomb Raider 5.Īs can be seen the only one missing was Tomb Raider 3. I consider myself to be a seasoned tomb raider. Ok, first of all hello from a newbie (but long time lurker) to this wonderful forum.
